This boxset is the ULTIMATE package for any COCK SPARRER fan. It is truly the ESSENTIALS. “RUNNING RIOT IN ’84” LP
It makes perfect sense binding Sparrer’s second full length here with their first well known, good quality live recording, captured shortly afterwards. A three color screenprinted Obi-Strip wraps around both jackets.
It is available in Claret and Blue Vinyl just like the other Sparrer releases, as well as a black vinyl version with RR84 in a deluxe casewrapped textured jacket. Both titles are comprised of remastered cuts, and together give you a vivid taste of the band’s tumultuous (yet fruitful) early eighties. “TRUE GRIT OUTTAKES” LP
Available in three versions, and most importantly remixed and remastered, this foil-stamped gem includes all of the tracks that were recorded for their debut with Decca, only un-cut, with all the count-ins and banter in between. This record is like a snapshot of being in the studio with CockSParrer, during the VERY early days. As it would be with such an amazing band, many of these songs have held strong through decades of new music and continue to reign as many of the “hits” they still perform today. To hear those songs at their roots is special, and we felt that this record deserved equally special packaging to commemorate how legendary it is to leagues of fans and vinyl collectors alike.

“GUILTY AS CHARGED” LP
Available in three versions, and remixed and remastered to bring out the energy underneath this perhaps under-appreciated release, this again allows this music to shine, as it should. Amidst all the craziness in the “punk rock” world in 1994, this was Sparrer’s answer… a tip of the hat and two fingers in the air letting everyone know that what all the kids were all of a sudden making money selling, they’d been doing for over twenty years. …Because they loved it! They weren’t going to stop having fun and doing things their way, as can be witnessed all over this record. Two of the versions even include a limited edition one-sided silkscreened 10″ with the (remastered) studio tracks from the “Run Away” single released in Germany the following year.

Until the release of “Here We Stand” in 2007, and after having listened to “Two Monkeys” and “Guilty as Charged” till our ears bled Claret and Blue, this record was a staple from the moment TKO released it. Well out of print on vinyl, we felt it necessary to reissue it alongside the other CockSParrer ESSENTIALS. Their first US tour, after already having been a band for nearly 30 years, was a feat; and the energy that surrounded the week, and the four amazing gigs truly ended up on this record. The packaging remains virtually the same as the original pressing, however it has been remastered and is being re-issued only on 180gram vinyl.

Recorded at Pirates Press’ 5th Anniversary Party last November (2009) in San Francisco, this is really a party in a custom diecut gatefold jacket. In addition to the copies included as part of the ESSENTIALS collection, this standalone version is limited to 300 pieces to try and allow people who were at the party an opportunity to buy the best souvenir we could imagine. To compliment the powerful set and fantastic sound quality, this double LP includes a limited screenprinted insert version of the poster that Ron Donovan from Firehouse Kustom Rock Art printed for the night, plus a massive door-size poster with 1200 photobooth pictures from the weekend, loads of candid snapshots of the aftermath, and a great DVD of Saturday night’s set. This release is a party; a real ticket to what the weekend was all about. For anyone who was there, as you undoubtedly know, buying a copy should really be a must… for anyone else who is lucky enough to get their hands on one, consider it a privilege.

“FOREVER” LP
For many, this band needs no introduction, as they are indeed legends in a vibrant scene stretching across the world. At the same time, for anyone not part of that category, they are far-and-away the best band that you’ve not heard yet.
This full length, their sixth, in 45 years as a band, truly exemplifies how incredible and how special this band is.
Rather than follow the all-too-common trajectory of releasing a new full length every few years, and following it up with tour after tour, sparrer really remained selective with the new music they’ve chosen to release, and the gigs they are willing to play – and for many people, that is what really sets them apart. There is no ‘fluff’ – ever!
